Carttera is proud to announce Portland Commons has been honoured with the prestigious “2023 Green Good Design Award” from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.

The iconic struts installation at Portland Commons began in the tight east elevation of the Mews courtyard with 7 struts and finished at the North courtyard elevation with an additional 4 struts.

The sculptural form of Portland Commons continues to reveal itself as the concrete structure proceeds to the 8th floor at the south end, while at the north end the last four of eleven massive steel struts are installed.

Touchless design is incorporated throughout the Portland Commons building from the main entrances and commons areas, to the gender neutral washrooms.
